Child Rights – Meaning

Human rights apply to all age groups; children have the same general human rights as adults, but children are particularly vulnerable and so they also have particular rights that recognize their special need for protection.
These are the rights that must be realized for children to develop their full potential, free from hunger and want, neglect and abuse.
_______________
Children are innocent, trusting and full of hope. Their childhood should be happy and loving. Their lives should mature gradually, as they gain new experiences. But for many children, the reality of childhood is altogether different.

_______________
Project FOOTPRINTS

A developing country like India wants the participation of world youth to help eradicate illiteracy and other social evils, and help give a better life to the children. Thus we decided to create Education Learning Network that has a vision of creating young leaders in the issue of child rights to increase positive impact in society.

This project was launched by AIESEC in India to give the Exchange participant experience of a very important social issue in India.
This project would enable the Exchange participant to understand Indian culture and psyche deeply through mingling with children rather than just exploring the surface of the country.

Project FOOTPRINTS emphasizes on the development and upliftment of the underprivileged children and, bringing into the mainstream the disabled and physically challenged children.

• THE INCREDIBLE INDIA
o THE ‘PINK CITY’: JAIPUR

INDIA:

India is the world's oldest civilization that has huge culture and tradition behind it. It’s the world's second largest population, the population whose large parts are in deprived and poor condition. There are many no. of developmental issues here and the government and non-government organizations are really putting a stress on development.
That is why, India is growing at the second fastest rate for many years now, behind only china, at 8-9% GDP growth.

Jaipur:

Jaipur, also known as the pink city, is the capital of State of Rajasthan in India. Built by Jai singh, and having a rich and old culture, Jaipur is one of the most favorite tourist places in India, and also is close to many other famous ones like Udaipur, Jaiselmer, Pushkar etc. Jaipur is a unique mix of cleanliness, tradition and modern facilities. Here you will find many traditional items and no difficulty in finding modern facilities.
Jaipur as a city is loved by all, Indians as well as internationals.

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

ACCOMODATION
Arranging accommodation of the exchange participant is the responsibility of AIESEC in Jaipur and for that purpose we have got ‘trainee houses’ prepared for the interns [6-7 of them]. All the standard facilities are provided in these trainee houses. The trainees who come to Jaipur are divided into the trainee houses and about 4-5 trainees from different countries live together in a trainee house at a time.

LIVING EXPENSES
To give you same basic idea of average living expenses, the major expenses are accommodation, food, traveling etc. Shopping is also one of them, but it depends on you. About INR 4000-4500 per month, including trainee house rent of INR 2500 is very sufficient for living in Jaipur.

REGULAR EVENTS & DISCUSSIONS
There are many activities and discussions that take place between the trainees & members of the LC. To mention some of the regular ones:
• Trainee dinner: Every Wednesday, we all go to one of the restaurants in Jaipur and have dinner together. Its really fun getting to know each other.
• Informal talks: There is a culture in Jaipur to value diverse opinions a lot. Regular discussions are held on various global topics so that we can understand the world better.
• Jaipur people group: This online group has all the members and the exchange participants added on it. It is a very good way to keep everyone together. A lot of virtual discussions and chatting happens on this group.

What are we looking for in you?

• Energetic
